About Us
Harold Field

Hi , My name is Harold Field. I started working in my dad's garage in 1958. I did my first engine overhaul on an old Volkswagen Bug at the age of nine. I completed my first transmission overhaul at the age of 11, and I also painted my first car at 11. I was brought up to fix stuff. When I rebuild a transmission, it gets completely rebuilt. It costs money for all of the parts and labor needed to do late model, electronically controlled transmissions correctly. If someone is under pricing me or other good quality shops, it is most likely because they are doing an inadequate job.

Repair equals fixing what is broken, and stopping there. Rebuild means fixing the problem and general kit installation. Overhaul means a complete rebuild, including, bushings, thrust washers, bands, shift program kits, updates, electronics, rebuilt converter, and other hard parts as needed.

Most states have laws to govern these procedures, and you should know what is being done for the money that you are spending. Are you looking for a repaired job that is called a rebuilt, or are you looking for a completely rebuilt transmission? Motto: If you don't want it fixed right, your better off putting in a good used transmission. Or use your money for a fire starter in the stove. It will burn up anyway.

I promise to do the very best that I can possibly do on each and every job.
