Complaint: 5-7 second delay then slams into gear with a 5th gear start.
Cause: Broken 1-2-3-4 clutch hub.
Correction: Replace the Clutch Hub

Additional Notes: Truck came with a complaint of 5-6 second delay in drive. Sluggish take of in drive. Checking data showed that after the engagement, 5th gear was commanded. However, it did not set any codes. It was decided to disassemble the transmission for inspection and that is when the hub was shown to be broken. It was a clean break at the weld. We are sure that the 5th start is a failsafe condition for this transmission as it saw an issue with 1st gear, and therefore commanded 5th gear.
