Year Make and Model of the Vehicle: 2009 TOYOTA Corolla with 1.8 liter engine.

Additional Notes: Customer stated that the transmission slipped and car had no power. A short road test revealed that the car had very little throttle response and a lack of power even though the trans seemed to be starting off in 1st gear.
A quick scan did not show any transmission faults, but did have the following codes present:

Code P060E criteria stated typical malfunction thresholds to be one of the following conditions:
  1. Difference of main throttle position and sub throttle position of 0.3 V or more
  2. Difference of main brake switch signal and sub brake switch signal

Chuck noticed that the TPS appeared to be functioning properly when viewing live scan tool data. It was decided to check brake switch and tail/brake lamp operation when it was noticed that the left rear brake lamp did not function. The bulb was replaced and now the brake lamp worked properly. Codes were cleared and a short road test showed proper operation. Codes remained cleared.
