ATSG CONFIRMED FIX - JULY 2022

2011 Toyota Camry 2.4L U760


Complaint: harsh late shifts/ erratic shifts and randomly setting PO715 for input speed sensor which is internal to transmission

Cause: battery acid leaking down onto the transmission case connector causing terminal corrosion

Correction: replace the external harness connector, also the internal connector/harness may also need to be replaced as well.

Additional Notes: location of the battery tray is right above the transmission case connector, when tech opened the hood, they saw a new battery had been recently installed. Upon further inspection they saw that the battery acid had been getting on the harness and case connector. Check the photo below showing the corrosion. When unplugging the case connector, you could see the pin damage that was showing. Any number of codes and or drivability issues could have been caused depending on what terminals were affected.
