ATSG CONFIRMED FIX - SEPTEMBER 2023
2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee 45RFE
Complaint: Fail Safe, setting code PO882
Cause: Faulty compressor clutch blowing fuse #22
Correction: Replace AC compressor clutch
Part numbers related to the repair: NA
Year Make and Model of the Vehicle: 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Mileage: 110,000
Shop Name: J&R Transmission
Transmission: 45RFE
Additional Notes: After fuse 22 was replaced the code was gone and the transmission worked normally. They checked the wiring to the transmission and could not find any issue, and they also replaced the solenoid block. The vehicle was given back to the customer, but the customer came back a few days later with the transmission in limp mode and code PO882 reset. The fuse was blown again. After checking the wiring diagrams, they saw that fuse 22 also feeds the compressor clutch relay. They installed a new fuse and when turning the AC on, the fuse blew. When they unplugged the compressor, the fuse did not blow, so the problem was fixed with a new compressor clutch.
