When I do a 6T70 I go out of my way to get Exedy. I have no proof except the seat of my pants. But every one I have used them in shifts crisp but not harsh. Havn't had one with Exedy yet with the long drawn out 3rd that takes forever to adapt. I have no problem using them in Hondas and many others either.
When I worked at the GM dealer 15 years ago all Frictions each came in it's own separate package with bold letters that said "Made in China". I don't like "made in China" but in tooo many cases we have no choice!

I have to agree with Richard on these companies shooting for cheap. They buy cheap, send you what makes them the highest profit, and then what recourse do they have once we use the parts. Same stories from
All the vendors, “first time I’ve heard of that.” My supplier changed brands of my 6l80 filters to gfx. Well I have been using them for a several months now. And then I had a come back with a split filter costing me. I sent the pic to my sales guy, and all I got was “I’ll send you a diffent brand.” So now I wonder how long it is going to take for the rest of the units I have out to have a problem. So now I’ll use ac delco on these. Try my luck there. I’m getting more and more to using nothing but dealer parts in the transmission I build. Just maybe they are holding there standard of parts a little higher since their own techs are having to use the same parts.

Your hesitation is perfectly understandable considering the history with Chinese products. I was among the millions who switched to RedNote after the TikTok ban. It has been eye opening. They have some of the most advanced stuff in the world. They are building some of the most incredible stuff I have ever seen. 24,000 miles 40,000km of high speed rail. We have 49.9 miles. I think the problem with the quality is coming from the people who order the stuff. They want cheap stuff they can make a lot of money off of and pass the blame back to the manufacture. If those friction have a problem I would bet it's because some ordered cheap stuff instead of good stuff. From what I have seen they're making lots of good stuff for people that want good stuff.

Got a kit from Transtar for a 4L80e that came with a transtec paper rubber and a Transtar branded friction module ? Builder I work with asked on the brotherhood who made these tstar branded frictions and was told they were Lintex, having never heard of them I googled them, and what do you know ? they're a Chinese company, and their website seriously sucks! The frictions don't look bad, but they don't look impressive either , we don't get a lot from Tstar, but I think we'll be specifying we don't want these in the future
