I think you fine. You can't go the other way, a 47 converter in a 48 because the hubs were not machined for the stator seal. Most companies are using 48 hubs on all converters now from what they have said.

what happens if you run a 48re torque converter in a 2002 47re Diesel truck? My guy sold me a diesel 48re triple disk when i asked for a 47re triple disk and i installed the unit already.
