Doesn't mean it can't happen. But I have never seen one of those solenoids fail. If it's some sort od performance code,tranny is likely shot. If it is a circuit code. Mouse damage,or broken wire.

Have a customer with a 03 Acura CL 3.2. According to my flip chart it should be a BGFA or MGFA unit. Put a scan tool on it and it says shift B. Call my parts guy (T*) and he says they have them listed as brown or black connector. Does anybody know by chance the answer to this question? Is B brown or black? Thanks.
