TRNW-2: Nissan CVT supplier

Yea the bolt and axle nut thing is something they started a year or so ago. Iduno I never felt right building them. Used belts, pulleys and valve body roulette depending on what year/model etc,and charging more than a dealer transmission at a Franchise shop for something I knew wasn't as good. I still build one every now and then, but it's usually because of unusual circumstances. And I am no longer at a "franchise" shop.
We use A&E tools and computers for programming. https://www.aetools.us/?srsltid=AfmBOopURUp6MfUhJWN-KzQyRAnIEb8H3kcKDKu9ovCfsYQ08DYc-SDj The shop owner bought a laptop and J234 stuff and other things from them, and says they only charge for the dealer subscription. Which makes no sense to me but he swears it's true. I have a feeling he isn't telling me everything. They remotely take over the laptop and haven't bricked anything yet. You call them and they almost always get back the same day. They don't "enjoy" doing Nissans but have always got it done first time and we do quite a few.

I do buy axle nuts, ball joint bolts/nuts, basically any life & death hardware that service info says to replace. Not sure what's included in the above mentioned bolt kit though.

Thanks for all the replies. Looks like we’ll be doing dealer on these 2. I’d like to build them but need to find a source for oe valve bodies, any suggestions ? The dealer wants 1950 each for the valve body on the 2 we have here now. Hard to build it when the unit is 2750. The whole job for the dealer unit with tax here is right around 6000.

The dealer units having a 3 year warranty now is pretty good. I originally started on the Berkeley units because of the 2 year warranty and no core charge. Our dealer parts department says need to buy fluid with the transmission, nothing about a bolt kit. I have programmed these in house but it’s quite time consuming and seems proof is needed when there’s a warranty issue. I’ve been trailering them to Nissan for programming when we do dealer units. Using Transtar’s rap for the Transtar units.

We have installed several factory remans over the years and never had an
issue with one, until this week! Had a 2017 Altima come back with 5000
miles on it, it pulls forward in every gear and has several transmission
codes, including the judder code. We always purchase the one-time
fastener kit which they now require in order to give the 36 month,
unlimited mileage warranty and we have them towed to the dealer for
programming, including the ones that come with the CD to erase the
Judder code. We did all that with this one and have all our
documentation. We are now waiting to hear from the service manager who
was out yesterday to see what they are going to do. So far they are
saying that if they find that it was a defect in their product, that
they will replace the transmission themselves free of charge. We will
see, and I will keep the group updated.
