This is an ongoing issue with ALL ten speeds
I have found ( like you stated) low mileage units all
Models ring shrinkage and for whatever reason once you “ disturb”
Them in any way say goodbye to even minimal sealing ability
Replace every ring use the vms sizing tools be careful not to be too
Rough installing them. They are similar to re5 rings u overstretch them
Say goodbye to any sealing ability
Always air check it on the bench no vb on it
Just my observation redoing a lot for other shops lately

For the sake of record keeping this is a 2021 Ranger AWD 2.3L turbo 65K miles. And the F clutches had started chewing up the trashcan drum.

Good day. I have done several of these units and only changed the 1 ring that pops out when the sleeve moves in the CDF drum. This trans drove out really weird during the diag. test drive and data collection. It air checked really bad during teardown, which is nothing new. The ring that pops off all the time was still in place but a little funny looking. Got together on the bench and it won't air up at ALL! I know the drum is tight because I made a tool for that. So, I get to looking and it seems that ALL the rings have shrunk about .010". I've got a dealer 002 kit coming in the night box so we'll see in the morning if it's true. Has anyone experienced this yet?

Thanks
