Yes you are on point
However I see this like u prior to teardown remove vb
Prop up my phone record the air check ( regulaterd 60 psi)
Air checks nice solid not great but good teardown unit reassemble
And f and c clutch nope they loose there sealing ability
I have yet to figure out the ACTUAL cause
So just watch this. This has caused many good builders ( me included)
Grief and pepcids. These units aren’t difficult theres just a learned ( taste)
To them

I have done it both ways, original rings and replacing them all. I am currently on the bandwagon of airchecking them when I pull the VB before I disassemble. While I am airchecking the packs, I am finding many times they will aircheck dead tight. If so I leave the rings alone, otherwise I change all of them. I have found on airchecking the new rings, if you get them wet and then hit them with full shop air pressure they will many times leak a little but holding the air to them they will all of the sudden pop and seal tight

Good day. I have done several of these units and only changed the 1 ring that pops out when the sleeve moves in the CDF drum. This trans drove out really weird during the diag. test drive and data collection. It air checked really bad during teardown, which is nothing new. The ring that pops off all the time was still in place but a little funny looking. Got together on the bench and it won't air up at ALL! I know the drum is tight because I made a tool for that. So, I get to looking and it seems that ALL the rings have shrunk about .010". I've got a dealer 002 kit coming in the night box so we'll see in the morning if it's true. Has anyone experienced this yet?
Thanks
