Subject: TRNW-2: 6R140 clutch clearances
I'm in the process of building a 6R140 unit that was a BD Diesel unit, they use their own machined pressure plates in the forward drum, OD drum and intermediate drum, and were using some thinner steels to add more clutches, I'm building it using GPZ clutches and original thickness Kolene steels,
I'm having an issue getting my clutch clearances right , according to some ATRA info I have the forward, direct and intermediate should have a max of .021 clutch clearance ? which doesn't sound right to me ? I've managed to stack up each with about .010 clearance per clutch , which in my mind is okay ?
I've built a couple of these before, but always using stock steels and clutches, and don't remember what clearance I had with those ?
Looking for opinions from those who've done some of these
Steve
