I had a 6L80 I overhauled come back with the filter split open just like that one a couple weeks ago. There were no marks to identify a brand. And the ones I had in the bin were made a little different,so I have no idea who made it. I might still have it at work. I'll look tomorrow. I told my supplier about it,but that lead no where. There is no telling how many we have out on the road. My one that came back, the converter clutch was lugging the motor.. A new filter made it go away. Subject: TRNW-2: Say NO to gfx filters! My supplier changed the filters I have been using on 6l80s to a gfx brand. Well I have had 2 come backs in the past 2 weeks with filters cracks that have been out less than a month. I guess I will only be using oe filters on these units now. Just another headache I have to deal with. I probably have 30 or so units out with this filter in them.
