TRNW-2: WORN out 48RE rooster comb detent

Had a guy drop his snow plow truck off. Has the "hard to get out of park" complaint. Talking to the guy on the phone I explain what's going on and I'm going to be a "hero" and fix his problem. Dropped the VB down and someone had the same thought many moons ago. I was going to use the Tgo fix for it but I was beat to the punch. Already has one but now it is so badly worn the whole length of the bore is worn BADLY. Guess all those forward/reverse took its toll.

Question is can I use a 46RE VB and install the springs from the 48 in it?  As always thanks for your time and help.
