Wanted to Repsond to this 9T65 real quick.
Only installed the new OE Torque Converter.
Unit worked fine afterwards and has been out for 3 weeks.
These lock up almost to zero slip speed and hold, pretty much through the
gears on this V6 engine 4x4 Traverse.
R&R in my opinoin is easier than a 6T70 and flag time is pretty good on
Prodemand.
I had harder time pulling the starter on a 4 cylinder turbo engine when i
removed a 9t45 in an AWD and this one is much easier with not much in the
way.
I did use an engine support tool brace even though it has an engine mount
on the passenger side, finding a place to hook it to the block was a small
challange, remove the engine padding and you will find a small bolt hole to
run the chain too, it was small like a 10mm headed bolt but worked great.
The front cooler line was a pain too going back in, make sure you install
it before securing the drivers side mount to the transmission.
I would not worry about R&R on these units, just make sure to bring the
electic steering rack down with the crossmember instead of hanging it like
on a 6T70.
The end.
