TRNW-2: 10R80 Question

Nothing definitive from me unfortunately.  Just that all I have noticed is that the gear highlighted in the dash lines up with what gear is being commanded on the scanner.  I have seen it jump down to 1st gear on both the dash and scanner when the TCM sees a bad enough slip.  Fortunately it doesn’t give engine braking in 1st like the 6R80, so it just feels like neutral.  I haven’t watched the “actual gear” PID while this TCM strategy has activated though.

Just my 2 cents worth.

on the 10R80 when you press the plus button on the gear shot lever it lights up the gear you are in on the dash.  So my question is this the Gear Commanded or is it the actual gear ratio?   The reason I ask I drove one today and it displayed 4 and it felt like it was taking off in 4th.  It had no codes.  I thought that the display was showing Commanded Gear but now am leaning towards Actual Gear Ratio.  Anyone know?
