in the manual shift mode, if you press the + button to display 5th,, 6th or whatever,, it will try to take off in that gear. I just bought a 2021 f150 and the darn manual is as thick as a large print bible. PS if you hook up to a camper and try to back up , it applies the brake. Took me 30 minutes to find out how to disable that feature. Just imagine how frustrated I would have been if I had drove to the campsite and couldn't back into the sight. Went to the store with my 2 dogs, left it running with ac on and 0ne window slightly cracked. Came b ack, eng not running, dogs almost heat stroke. Engine shuts off after so minutes running. If a Ford engineer had walked by right then , my wife would have sent him to the hospital. I have since solved those problems but I'm sure others will pop up. Toooooo much technology.

The reason I ask I drove one today and it displayed 4 and it felt like it was taking off in 4th. It had no codes. I thought that the display was showing Commanded Gear but now am leaning towards Actual Gear Ratio. Anyone know?
