Thank you Fred! That is what ended up working for me. Those rubber speed
sensor tone wheels make the axle pop back out slightly no matter how
much you hammer on them. LOL
Since it has rear disc brakes and the caliper was out of the way, the C-
clamp vice grips went right in there. Easy Peasy. It didn't need axles
which was a blessing. Those dudes are expensive!
Going back in with the pinion gear by myself, I took a 20" long bar and
put it in the axle tubes. Then I wedged a 2X4 and a rag in between the
pinion gear and the bar, holding the pinion gear in the housing while I
tapped the front bearing in. I usually have a helper hold the pinion
gear in the housing while I hammer in the bearing.
